This Privacy Policy explains how GiggleByte AB (“we”, “us”) processes data when you use MemeBot on Discord.
1. Who we are
MemeBot is operated by GiggleByte AB. Contact: support Discord or gigglebyte.se.
2. Data we process
Depending on which features you use, we may store:
- Discord identifiers — user IDs, guild (server) IDs, and channel IDs needed to run commands
- Command-related content — e.g. reminder text, AI chat session messages you send, saved memories/personas, Wordle progress, RPS history
- Server settings — welcome kit, daily post, and digest preferences configured by admins
- Activity aggregates — lightweight per-guild usage stats for digests and similar features
- Vote records — when you vote via top.gg webhooks (Discord user ID and vote metadata)
- Operational logs — short-lived technical logs for reliability and abuse prevention (we avoid logging full AI model responses)
We do not intentionally collect email addresses, payment details, or government IDs. Discord may show us your username/avatar when the bot interacts with you; we use that only as needed to respond.
3. Why we process it
- Provide and improve MemeBot features you request
- Remember optional preferences (e.g. AI memory, game streaks)
- Send vote thank-yous and (if enabled) server digests
- Keep the service secure and diagnose outages
Legal bases under GDPR (where applicable) include performing the service you request and our legitimate interest in running a reliable Discord bot.
4. AI processing
AI commands (such as /askai, roast, research, and image generation)
send relevant prompts and context to Spockify
(and any models Spockify routes to) to generate a reply.
Do not submit secrets or sensitive personal data in AI prompts.
5. Sharing
We share data only as needed to run the service:
- Discord — to receive and send interactions
- Spockify / AI providers — for AI features you invoke
- top.gg — vote webhooks and optional listing stats
- Hosting — our infrastructure for storage and delivery
We do not sell personal data.
6. Retention
We keep feature data while it is useful for the feature (e.g. active reminders, game state, server settings, AI sessions/memories). We may delete inactive or obsolete data, and we may purge data when a server removes the bot or when you ask us to (subject to technical limits).
7. Your choices
- Stop using MemeBot or remove it from a server
- Avoid AI/memory features if you do not want that data stored
- Ask us via the support server to delete stored data tied to your Discord user ID where we can identify it
8. Children
MemeBot is intended for users who are allowed to use Discord. We do not knowingly target children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region).
9. Changes
We may update this policy by posting a new version at this URL. Material changes will bump the “Last updated” date above.
